Le Boomerang est la préfiguration d’un module martien capable de s’adapter à tout type de terrain. Cette structure gonflable haute pression dispose d’un sas d’entrée avec commodités, d’un dortoir prévu pour 6 personnes (couchage dans des hamacs) et d’une zone commune pour le travail et les repas. Des toiles amovibles viennent cloisonner chaque pièce. Touts les équipements et meubles sont suspendus par des câbles aux parois. En cas de dépressurisation brutale, l’équipage est en sécurité.
